Ezer Mizion was founded in 1979 with eight volunteers. It has grown to a major organization with currently 11,000 volunteers in addition to its large, professional staff. Programs range from Ezer Mizion’s International Jewish Bone Marrow Registry, the largest Jewish registry in the world, to social services programs in Israel such as the Special Education Division, Oranit, Israel’s Guest Home for Children with Cancer and Their Families, transportation to medical appointments and treatments for the mobility or respiratory challenged, and many more.
